Program Overview: | Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia encountered in clinical practice and is associated with high risk of morbidity and mortality. As the population ages, this arrhythmia is likely to become increasingly more prevalent. However, numerous practice gaps exist regarding ideal management of AF, resulting in suboptimal treatment strategies. The goal of this problem solving clinical case is to examine practice management of AF and identify knowledge and performance gaps. |

Learning Objectives: | a. Define appropriate therapies to maintain sinus rhythm in order to halt or control AF recurrence
b. Apply current guidelines to develop effective treatment strategies that achieve prolonged periods between episodes of AF
